One page, one day
Slate is a Pencil-first daily journal and planner for iPad. A dated page gives the experience a simple structure, leaving the surface itself open for thinking, sketching and planning.
The feel is part of the product
The project explores a custom Metal brush engine rather than PencilKit. Touch sampling, smoothing and ink rendering sit alongside paper patterns and a brush studio. This is where interaction design meets the details of implementation.
Still on the drawing board
The repository includes storage, PDF export and sync implementations. Native device validation and the feel of the complete experience remain part of the ongoing work. The illustration above is an interface study, not a capture from a finished app.
